Drew Hall was hit by the whale’s tail that surfaced near his boat during a fishing trip off the Australian coast.

The Hall family decided to take their dinghy out Sunday morning just north of Brooms Head in New South Wales and were watching many frolicking whales when one of them emerged from the water.

“It all happened within seconds,” Drew Hall’s mother Karen told the local Daily Examiner newspaper.

“I was sitting backwards in the boat looking at Drew and the tail just whacked him and sent him flying.

“I thought Drew was dead. I looked at him and thought he was gone — he was blue,” she added. “He was totally unconscious. It took about five minutes before we could get him to move or make a noise.”

The family brought the 13-year-old back to shore where they were met by paramedics who rushed him to the hospital with a broken collarbone and an “egg” sized bump on his head.

Recently, two people were injured and their boat was severely damaged after it collided with a whale off the Brisbane coast.

Now, the US is in a difficult situation wondering what to do with the remains of its worst enemy. According to the Guardian, US officials are going to compare bin Laden’s DNA to make sure they have finally knocked down their man. The test results will be announced within a few days from today.

The possession of his remains was taken immediately after the killing to avoid any future ‘escape’ myths.

As for his burial, his family in Saudi Arab was distant from him and have no interest what happens to his body. The Saudi government is reluctant to have his shrine built in his country to avoid people paying him their respects.

CBS on the other hand reports that bin Laden’s body has been buried at sea. There are reports the deceased body was flown to Afghanistan approximately three hours after his death was announced worldwide.

Read it at CBS and Guardian.

A dead sea turtle was found off the coast of Argentina and was examined by experts who found hundreds of pieces of coloured plastic inside the poor creature’s stomach. The pieces that look like colourful mosaic were the reason the turtle’s digestive tract was blocked, leading to a slow and agonizing death from starvation. It’s unbelievable that a turtle can swallow so many pieces of plastic. Sea turtles mistake plastic bags for jellyfish, one of their favourite foods. A large number of sea creatures end up dying due to pollution.
